The Method

Integrated geospatial systems onboard heavy equipment into internal business processes, enabling automated daily collection of machine utilization and location, as well as seamless integration into reporting tools used to generate payroll and invoices.

This data was previously collected by field operators, resulting in errors, omissions, data acquisition delays, and asset mislocation. This caused erroneous, non-transparent, and delayed invoices, payroll errors, and inefficient mobilization of assets between job sites.

By integrating onboard geospatial data into reporting tools, machine hours were reliably tied to the correct projects, transparently listed in project summaries and invoices, and equipment was easy to find and mobilize based on proximity to job sites.

Responsibilities

The Results

Invoices were paid quickly without the need for repeated follow ups from Accounting.

Field Operator morale improved with the reduction of daily calls asking about machine hours and reduced need to fumble with reports at the end of the day.

Most importantly, improved cashflow and morale made it possible to take on more and bigger jobs with less risk, leading to business growth.
